About Us: Hendersonville Staff

Ron Carland, CPA, CFP , holds a BA from Western Carolina University. He began his career at Horton & Carland in 1974. He served as a Special Agent with the FBI in the late 1970s. He returned to Hendersonville in 1980 and the firm became Carland & Carland. Ron earned his Certified Financial Planner designation in 1988. He and Terry Andersen formed Carland & Andersen in 2003. Ron enjoys working with clients on their finances and is active with Historic Flat Rock. He is married to Kathleen and cites his hobby as “indulging our three children”. Email Ron

Terry Andersen, CPA, holds a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with additional accounting coursework from University of North Carolina-Asheville. He has been with the firm since 1986 when he began as a staff accountant and worked his way up to partner. Terry is married to Jane, a retired teacher. They have a daughter, Stephanie, who lives in Atlanta, and a son, Geoff, who lives in Raleigh and is also an accountant. In his spare time, Terry enjoys watching sports… particularly Carolina basketball and Indy and Nascar racing. Email Terry

Denise Black has lived in Hendersonville since 1986. She graduated From Blue Ridge Community College in 1993 and has been with Carland & Andersen since 1994. Denise does payroll, bookkeeping, tax returns and audits. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, sewing, gardening and listening to music. Email Denise

Doreen Castellucci has an Associates of Science in Accounting. She has been with Carland & Andersen as a staff accountant since 1998. Outside the office she is a distance runner, and enjoys backpacking and cooking. Email Doreen

Hal Reid, CPA, has a BA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a BS in Business Administration from Western Carolina University. He joined Carland &Andersen in early 2003. During audit season his focus is on audits of nonprofit agencies and governmental units, while during tax season it’s on preparation of corporate and individual income tax returns. Hal is married to Anita and has four grown children. He is an actual native of Hendersonville, but grew up in Charleston, SC. He enjoys yard work and listening to beach music. Email Hal

Kristy Henderson , from Brevard, earned her certificate in accounting from Blue Ridge Community College. She loves working at Carland & Andersen and has done “a little bit of everything” since she started in 1992. Kristy enjoys spending time with family and friends, running, traveling and has a young daughter who keeps her very busy. Email Kristy

Colby Creasman Buchanan , from Hendersonville, earned both her Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters in Accounting at Western Carolina University. She is a Hendersonville native and is active in the agriculture community. Colby has previously worked for a national CPA firm and also with the Henderson County Public Schools. She has several years of hands-on experience working with local business and individuals. She spends most of her time outside of the office working on her parent’s third generation apple farm. Colby is married to Kameron and they enjoy running, hiking, and traveling across the US.

Kim Baker-Hudgins, CPA,  grew up in Gaffney, SC on a small farm.  She began working for a CPA firm in the Spartanburg area while in high school and graduated from USC-Spartanburg (now known as USC-Upstate).  In 1992 Kim became a partner with Smolski-Baker-Hudgins, P.A. in Hendersonville.  She has been active on local and regional boards for the Seventh-day Adventist K-12 board of education for 15 years and taught children's classes at church for over 30 years.  Kim is currently on the Lay Advisors Board for the Henderson County Community Foundation.  Her husband, John, is also a CPA and VP of Finance for the Merit Group.  Kim and John have two adult daughters, four dogs and four cats.  Her focus in on small business clients and individual tax clients with an emphasis on planning and proactive teamwork with clients' other professional advisors.  Email Kim  

Becky Campbell is originally from Canton, NC.  She has worked in accounting as a tax professional for over 20 years. Her specialy is estates, trusts and elder services.  When not at work Becky enjoys spending time outdoors hiking with her dogs.  Email Becky
